National Kids Gym

we're passionate about helping kids stay healthy & Active

National Kids Gym was started in 2012, by traveling to 1 or 2 schools to teach beginner gymnastics. Katie took over in 2014, as owner and sole operator to really focus on increasing our reach to even more children! We now travel to over 20 schools and homes, teaching gymnastics, physical activity, yoga, hoop skills, and more! We want to instill a level of confidence in each child, knowing that they are strong, powerful, and can accomplish anything they set their mind to! Our coaches LOVE working with children, a must in any children’s activity. We love forming a special bond between coach and child, allowing them to grow with National Kids Gym.

Our program offers a beginner, energetic gymnastics class. The focus is on skill development, increased coordination and balance, and increased confidence! These skills will transcend gymnastics and help children in every other facet of life.

Meet COACH Katie!

she/her, owner and lead instructor

I grew up in Wilkes Barre, PA where I fell in love with exercise at a very young age. As a kid, I participated in gymnastics, soccer, and field hockey – anything to keep me active! I received a degree in Biobehavioral Health from PSU in 2010. Since then, I have been in the fitness industry working with men and women of all ages (children to older adult population). I took over as the Owner and Lead Instructor at National Kids Gym in 2014 to focus solely on children’s gymnastics. I love getting to be silly every day with the children – allowing the kids (and myself) to act like a kid!

I still teach adult group exercise classes and personal train in my free time. I love helping people accomplish their wellness goals! I want to instill healthy lifestyle behaviors in children at a young age so they feel confident being physically active throughout their entire lives. Not only am I dedicated to make physical activity fun, but I will increase motor skills, coordination, and confidence in all children!

Meet Coach Vee!

she/her, lead instructor

I’m a Philadelphia native, and would consider myself a natural born leader & helper. With a degree in Human Services, I’ve spent much of my career working with at-risk youth, children with special needs, and serving families throughout Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. I made a tough decision to leave children and youth, but knew my purpose would still be centered in working with them. As a previous owner & director of a gymnastics and dance facility, I enjoyed fulfilling that purpose every day. It allowed me to have a positive impact on my students, by growing their confidence, fostering their imagination, and improving their gross motor skills.

I’m also AFAA certified, licensed in STRONG by Zumba, and teach a variety of dance classes for adults. As you can see, I strive to put the FUN in fitness no matter the age of my students! I began working with NKG in March 2021 and love getting familiar with all their smiles as they accomplish new skills!

When I’m not coaching or instructing, you can find me on an open mic stage performing spoken word & poetry.

Meet COACH Joan!

she/her, lead instructor

I recently relocated to the Philadelphia area after living in Minneapolis, MN for the past 4 years. I am currently in graduate school for Developmental Psychology with a track focus on Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. I have worked with kiddos all of my life from babysitting and sports camp counseling to childcare. I also currently work as a Behavioral Health Technician working with kiddos with Autism.

In my free time, I love spending time with my dog, Indie, and my fiancé. I love going on hikes, listening to live music, and spending time with my family.

Meet Coach AVERY!

she/her, lead instructor

I am a current Master of Public Health and Master of Social Policy candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. My home is Buffalo, NY, but I spent the last five years in Charleston, SC where I completed undergrad. I was a competitive gymnast for over 10 years and have coached at the preschool through competitive level. I absolutely love coaching children at the preschool and elementary level because of the opportunity to be creative, have tons of fun, and watch them grow!

Gymnastics has always been such an important part of my life and I am excited to continue to share it in my role as a Lead Coach with NKG. I strive to instill confidence in children in not only their gymnastic skills, but themselves!

When I am not coaching or in the classroom, I love to travel, attend live sporting events, and spend time with friends and family.

Meet Coach ORIANA!

she/her, lead instructor

I grew up in a small farm town called Buena where I developed a love for all things animal. The beach is my happy place and any chance that I get to go – I am there. I am currently a student at Immaculata University and have plans to attend Law School in the near future.

Growing up, I started dance at the age of 5 and I have never stopped dancing! I soon entered the world of gymnastics for a few years where I then transferred into cheerleading. I have been to competitions all over New Jersey and have even been to Nationals in Disney! I fell in love with it so much that I am still a current cheerleader at Immaculata University.

I have spent a lot of my working experience with children. I find that everyday is a new day and a new experience when working with kids and that is why I love it!

We're always looking for new coaches to join our team!
